maybe it's just me. of course i also read mcdonald's "BIG 'N TASTY" signs as "BIG NASTY." go figure.

i chuckle every time i see cab ass'n!
I grew up in the D.C. area, and it's the only place I have ever seen these cab companies that are "Ass'n"s. I have always read it as "assassin" too. Glad to know I'm not alone. Presidential Cab Assn. is the best name out of the many "assassins" in D.C.!
